Recommended Vaccinations

The CDC and WHO recommend that travelers to Thailand get vaccinated against certain diseases, including the following vaccine recommendations.

  • Hepatitis A and B: Strongly recommended.
  • Typhoid: Recommended based on the traveler’s risk.
  • Japanese encephalitis: Recommended depending on the traveler’s itinerary and activities.
  • Influenza: Recommended, especially before the rainy season.
  • Cholera: Recommended for travelers at increased risk or visiting areas with active transmission.
  • Polio: Recommended due to an increase in cases globally.
  • Yellow fever: Required if traveling from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission.

Other vaccines that may be recommended include:

  • Tetanus and Diphtheria.
  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR).
  • Rabies.
  • Shingles.
  • Pneumonia.

As of April 23, 2024, a vaccination record is no longer required to travel to Thailand.

You should consult with your personal doctor about vaccines and not listen to people on social media!
