In all my recent travels around Thailand, there must be at least 10 times as many new temple attractions than in previous trips.
As Buddhism is in serious decline, it is odd to see so many grand attractions and statues built across Thailand.
Although these are associated with Buddhist temples, one has to wonder with the decline of Buddhism if this isn’t in fact just a “Build It and The Tourist Will Come” rouse to get more money for the temple?
We see the Thai people suffering more than ever and surely these grand expenditures would have been better spent serving the people that need it most.
