The title says it all.
Times change.
What happens when you have sold up and moved all the way to Thailand, then years later you long for your own country and culture?
This happens a lot more than you know.
Thailand is great until you have seen and done it all.
Then it becomes just like anywhere else in the world.
I think, honestly, expats should not move to Thailand unless they are in their retirement years.
That way there is enough to see and do until the end.
They won’t get bored and feel a need to move as old age will have caught up with them.
Having money is always the mitigating circumstance to not getting bored.
This allows a lifestyle of leisure and travel, fun, and hobbies that can help sustain a life in Thailand.
What expats love about Thailand in their 20’s and 30’s, they really start to worry in their 40’s they won’t have anything for retirement. Many end up going home.
The fact is times will change, the same as they did in your own country forcing a move to Thailand.
Thailand is a tough place to live, just ask us Thai’s.
Times will change.
