If possible, it is best to make a trip to Thailand and visit all the possible long term destinations, so you know what to expect before moving.
That way there are no surprises.
Housing, transportation, medical, weather, schools, etc. can all be sorted to your liking or not.
It is better to make your own life, a life that fits you and will ensure your own personal happiness.
It is important to understand your OWN budget and understand all of the costs you will be confronted with over time. That means from the time you move, until the time you die.
Thailand will always be what you make it for yourself and your own family.
