Is the rural Isaan region of Thailand the safest place in the world?
Will it be the safest place to live in the future?
Northeast Thailand or Isaan consists of 20 provinces in the northeastern region of Thailand.
Isaan is Thailand’s largest region, located on the Khorat Plateau, bordered by the Mekong River to the north and east, by Cambodia to the southeast and the Sankamphaeng Range south of Nakhon Ratchasima.
Isaan has some major cities such as Udon Thani and Khon Kaen but for this discussion we are referring strictly to rural Isaan villages.
Rural Isaan has not changed much the past 50 years and probably never will.
An extremely poor area with many living on earnings of US $6 day.
Most of this region is rice fields and sugar cane, with locals working as manual laborers in the fields.
There is no big industry or manufacturing, therefore little to no paying jobs.
Air pollution is not an issue, nor is traffic or over-crowding.
Prices are the cheapest in the entire country and continue to be so.
There is no issue with crime and the only issues revolve around alcoholism.
So why is Isaan so safe?
The fact really is because there is absolutely nothing going on there.
The streets roll up by 6:00PM and the workers are up at 5:00AM
They really have no money to go anywhere or go anything.
The majority of time is spent around the house with family or neighbors.
Rural Isaan is void of all the wokeness we are seeing in America. People are not mentally unhinged and care more about eating that day than politics.
You are unlikely to see any school shootings, racist incidents, LGBT issues or any other issues at all.
A stress free environment.
Most Isaan people are extremely friendly and helpful.
In the event China goes to war with Taiwan, issue will be the furthest place from danger.
100% safe as there is nothing of value in rural Isaan.
In fact rural Isaan is so safe, the worst fear would be being bored to death.
No wars, no invasions, no crime, no pollution, no politics, no hate; only boredome.
So there you have it, if you can overcome the boredom, you will be the safest place in the world!
