Ban Bueng district, Chonburi —
A 34-year-old man crashed his motorbike into the back of a truck during last night’s storm in Chonburi and died while his two daughters (8 and 9 years old) survived with injuries.
The fatal accident occurred on the Ban Bueng-Chonburi Road in the Nong Samsak subdistrict of Ban Bueng district, Chonburi. During last night’s storm, at 10:30 p.m., rescue services rushed to the aid of a man who was reported to have suffered serious injuries after colliding his motorbike into the back of a truck.
The man was identified as Amporn Thuraprayu (34). He was found with his two daughters aged 8 and 9-years-old on the road beside a crumpled red Honda PCX bike. Rescue workers tried to save the man by performing CPR but failed due to his serious injuries. The father was pronounced dead at the scene while his two daughters survived with non-life threatening injuries.
The truck driver, Sayan Wu On (36), told police that he was about to exit a gas station when the man rammed into his truck. It was raining heavily at the time of the accident, and the man was swaying uncontrollably, the driver claimed.
The three victims were transported to a nearby hospital. Ban Bueng police said they would review CCTV footage to find the exact cause of the accident.
