Is it possible to piece together an online income to live in Thailand?
There are many young people that want to move and live in Thailand.
The biggest hurdle is Thailand is one of the hardest places to find a job other than teaching English, and those qualifications are getting stricter.
Digital nomads, those working remote in Thailand with special online skills, are able to make a go at it, however, you have to have an online skill you can get paid for.
Could you piece together US $1,000 or 30,000 thb/month is you wanted to live in Thailand?
This is what we see others doing:
- Monetizing a Youtube channel. To get to the money, you need to go hard and release videos every single day to build a following quicker. Along with a Youtube channel you can ask viewers to buy you a coffee or make donations.
- Patreon – This is where you can find donors willing to support you with a monthly donation.
- Shopify type ecommerce stores where you have a website but don’t actually have to handle any products yourself.
- Affiliate marketing – Once again, a website or blog where you post affiliate links for other companies and get paid a commission on any sales via your affiliate link.
- Amazon.com – Become an Amazon affiliate. Then you can offer ANY product Amazon sells on your website/blog and make a commission. We have seen some with 1000’s of Amazon links make enough to live in Thailand.
- Write/Sell e-books. Do it yourself eBooks can be an income generator when selling on Amazon.
- Fiverr.com – You can do jobs for people across the world with what skills you might have.
- Some companies like Surfshark and other VPN’s or product company offer financial sponsorships to pitch their products.
- Get a big time influencer to support your start up. Image having Mark Wien’s with 10,000,000 subscribers of his own recommending you!
The reality of piecing together and income is that it is possible, but it takes a mountain of time and effort to get it started with enough money coming in each month you don’t have any financial worries.
When you have to work this much and this hard just to survive in Thailand, you may find you are having to work more and have no time for enjoying Thailand?
It is not an easy go and with so many foreign Youtubers, it is getting to be very hard to build a large following where you can support yourself.
If you do manage to piece together an income, there are still all the VISA issues to resolve.
Thailand is not easy, not even close with no income. If you do work hard enough to make a living and get around the VISA issues, you will have the dream life you believe Thailand to be.
Anything less than success, unfortunately as soon as your savings run out, you will be on your way back home.
