Holiday Traditions

When I married my American husband, one thing he expressed was to keep his US holiday traditions for our son.

That included Birthdays, Valentines Day, Easter, July 4rth, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

I wanted to keep my own holidays as well.

Songkran, Loy Krathong, Mothers and Fathers Day, Visakha Bucha Day, King and Queens birthdays and others.

Over the years we were able to celebrate both sets of holiday traditions and give our son the opportunity to learn about each of these and perhaps carry on with his own children someday.

Wonderful memories captured over the years of each of these interesting holiday traditions.

Just because you move to Thailand, doesn’t mean you have to forego any of your own traditions.

As a Thai, I still look forward to celebrating many of the US Holiday traditions.
