When you have lived in Thailand for a while, nothing will impress you.
Not the beaches, not Bangkok, not the temples, nothing much of all.
You will have your own home and go about your daily business just like anywhere else in the world.
Sooner or later, you will realize the crowds aren’t worth it, the traffic is not worth it, going to the beach when the water is too warm to swim is not worth it. Then there are the days it is so hot you don’t want to be outside.
Then it becomes more about being home than being in Thailand.
Week after week, you get into your daily routine and that is about it.
The rest of the time is a normal life, in your normal house, doing the same things week in and week out.
Not much different than the life you left before you came here.
Living in rural Thailand, there is a lot of mountains and rivers, fresh air, things to see and do, that are not overcome by an over abundance of western tourists.
This becomes your life. Boring to some, peaceful to others.
Despite all you can read on social media, you can never really understand Thailand until you have lived here for a few years.
I am happy the tourists all seem to congregate in the same locations in Thailand, far away from us.
We can have a normal, stress-free peaceful, cost effective Thai style life.
You might be surprised, that even though you are living in Thailand, there are places where life can be as normal was what you came from.
When you need a break, try something new. China, South Korea, Vietnam, Japan.
