10’000’s of maddening Songkraner’s all in one location is just not for me.
For others that are not Thai or coming to Thailand for their first Songkran, it can be a big deal to participate on Silom or Khao San Road, Central World or any of the other city locations that may get 10,000+ people.
But it is not for me.
Maybe when I was much younger, but the crowds, the traffic, getting around takes all the fun out of the holiday.
Rural Songkran celebrations capture the true vibe of Songkran and it is a much happier experience.
People are much happier and willing to participate.
If you get off the beaten Songkran tourist path’s into rural areas of Thailand, you will find the celebrations something to always remember.
