First, builders do things a lot different in Isaan Thailand.
If you have no prior experience and are not mechanically inclined, you should, at the very least educate yourself in the local building practices.
The second thing is you should be on sight to keep an eye on things, so no shortcuts are taken. We look at quality a lot differently than these builders and doing things the right way.
Third, keep your eye on the material costs. So the builder does not buy materials and inflate the price.
