On Saturday, the Royal Thai Navy launched the Anantanakkhara Royal Barge from the National Museum into the water, preparing for the Royal Barge Procession for the Royal Kathin Ceremony. This event is part of the celebrations for His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday on July 28.
The Anantanakkhara Royal Barge, with its bow shaped like a 7-headed Nakkharat (King of Nāga), sailed from the Bangkok Noi Canal to the Chao Phraya River. It headed towards the Thonburi Naval Dockyard, following the Suphannahong Royal Barge and the Narai Song Suban, which had been relocated on separate days over the past two days.
The Royal Barge Procession consists of four royal barges: the Suphannahong, the Narai Song Suban, the Anantanakkharat, and the Anekchatbhuchong. These will be launched into the water and docked at the Thonburi Naval Dockyard between July 4-7.
