This is the life you want, Thailand, warm weather, splendid beaches and tons of things to see and do.
After a holiday to Thailand, you have decided 100% this is the life for you.
Then comes the realization of how can you pay for a life like this?
First of all, there is moving to Thailand.
Second, is can you afford the life in Thailand you expected from your holiday?
Moving to Thailand with no fixed income is crazy. There are lots of crazy foreigners surviving here on US $1,000 a month or less. Sooner or later they all run out of money and get sent home. Many sooner than later.
What they discover after moving, is that Thailand is not such a cool place if you are broke and just getting by.
Your cheap 1 room flat gets smaller and smaller each month you stay.
Long gone are the resorts, island hopping trips and excessive parties.
The life you dreamed of from your tourist experience no longer exists.
If you want to live what you think is your dream life, it takes money, money and more money.
If you want to have a nice place to live, a car, motorbike, money to travel as you see fit, it takes a lot of money.
I am guessing for your dream life ~US $5,000 a month. If you want to have a nice place to live and be able to travel around and do whatever you want to do.
How to pay for it all becomes the #1 question to living the life you dream of.
The truthful answer in 2024 is it is almost impossible unless you have some mad skills where you can work online and earn a western income.
Software developers, cyber security specialists, computer programmers etc. you need mad skills that you can be paid western salaries. US $75,000+ range salaries.
99% of the Youtubers will never make it and they are too busy trying to survive month to month to even understand that.
English teachers? Well if you are fully degreed and land an International School job, which are few these days, you might get a salary of 100,000 thb a month or more. The issue then becomes time. Too busy working (and work wears you out), to live the dream life.
However, if you are trying to teach English on a TEFL, 30,000 thb a month is not paying for the dream life. It is merely paying to survive. Then you learn working 6 days a week is not the dream life. Tiring, boring and no time for travel or fun.
Start a business? So many businesses have been tried and failed 1000 times over. Look at the marijuana shops? 1,000’s of shops opened to date. Too much competition, to few customers.
High season hotspot vacation locations have NO tourists 9 months out of the year.
In all reality, if you are working each week, you won’t have a dream life. Too busy working long hours leaves no time for a dream life.
Perhaps the only way is to be an extremely popular social media influencer where you can collect huge sums just being you, anywhere, day to day?
What are the chances of you being that extremely popular and hitting it big as an influencer?
Yes, the answer is almost zero.
Growing up here, I honestly have no viable answers how people can pay for a dream life here without working themselves to death.
