Koh Larn (Coral Island) is a small Thai island off the coast of Pattaya, in the Gulf of Thailand. It’s known for its beaches, set against a backdrop of wooded hills.
Koh Larn has six main beaches and a few smaller ones not mentioned here.
All of the beaches are of white sand and clear azure waters.
You will find food services, restrooms and showers at all of the beaches.
Accommodations are available at both Samae and Tawaen beaches.
Beach chairs run between 50 and 100 Baht at most places.
Some of the taxi drivers offer around the island tours with a brief stop at each beach for you to have a short look, then off to the beach you like the most. Cost for around the island tours varies from 400 to 800 Baht.
You could opt to rent a motorbike for 200 or 300 Baht a day, be sure you know how to handle a motorbike.
In the north, Ta Waen Beach is dotted with restaurants and shops.
A large, stingray-shaped building dominates Samae Beach’s north end.
The beach is famed for its clear water and sunset views.
Small monkeys inhabit the hills around coral-ringed Nual Beach, in the south
Koh Larn can be reached from Pattaya by ferry. Cost of the Ferry boat is 30 Baht each way per person. There are 2 destinations for the ferry, one is the Koh Larn village which faces towards Pattaya and then the other is Tawaen Beach which is on the opposite side. The trip takes between 35 and 45 minutes.
A speed boat cost around 150 to 200 baht per person from Bali Hai Pier. Travel time only 15 to 20 minutes.
