If you are going to live in Thailand, you need to know what a Hi-So is.
This stands for High Society, people that are financially well off to the point they do not believe the rules/laws apply to them.
They often wield power with someone important in the police department or military.
You do not want to cross a Hi-So in Thailand as they can become unhinged at foreigners very easily and stir up lots of unneeded trouble for you.
In a recent news story a Hi-So stopped her Mercedes Benz and dumped her trash into the water below, even though there was a trash bin 6 meters away.
Hi-So thinking?
I do not live here so why do I care if there is trash in the water?
Don’t you know who I am? I can dump my trash where ever I want.
The mentality that no rules/laws apply to them is prevalent in Thailand.
In the case this lady and her Mercedes license plate was capture on video and she was shamed online.
Will the police get involve and charge her?
Does she even care or will she get off due to her HiSo status?
