Bangkok = Big City!

Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is a large city known for ornate shrines and vibrant street life.

The boat-filled Chao Phraya River feeds its network of canals, flowing past the Rattanakosin royal district, home to opulent Grand Palace and its sacred Wat Phra Kaew Temple.

Nearby is Wat Pho Temple with an enormous reclining Buddha and, on the opposite shore, Wat Arun Temple with its steep steps and Khmer-style spire.

Area: 606 mi²

600 square miles = (1,550 square kilometers)

Population is 10,700,000

With that many people, that much traffic and that much concrete, Bangkok is a steaming hot mess.

When people first land in Bangkok and get outside of the International Air Terminal’s cold air-conditioning, right away they feel like a hot, wet, wool blanket has been thrown over them.

7/11’s are the most popular places in the city, offer respite from the heat with cold air conditioning and plenty of cold beverages.

Seeing the attractions of this huge city means you will be out in the heat and humidity the majority of your trip.

Learn to dress appropriately for these conditions and always keep your self well hydrated.

There are cool beverages for sale everywhere.
