Bangkok’s Drainage and Sewage Department on Monday, September 26th, warned of more heavy rain in the afternoon and evening all over the city and advised people to go home early.
The Department also reported the maximum amount of precipitation after moderate rainfall in the past 24 hours in Khlong Lam Chala – Nawamin Road of Khan Na district (51 mm.), Khlong Bang Na – Srinakarin Road of Bang Na district (44 mm.), Bueng Kum District Office (41 mm.), and Suan Luang District Office (39.5 mm.).
Two major roads, namely Rama I Road in front of the MBK Center in Pathumwan district and Phahonyothin Road between Soi 10 – Soi 8 in Phayathai district, were ordered for drainage acceleration after high water levels were reported as of this morning.
The Public Relations Division of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) alerted the public of the heavy to very heavy rain forecast between 1:00 PM and 8:00 PM. in several parts of the city, including Nong Chok, Bang Khen, Huai Khwang, Din Daeng, Bueng Kum, Chatuchak, Lak Si, Don Mueang, Lat Phrao, Sai Mai, Khan Na Yao, Wang Thong Lang, Khlong Sam Wa, and Thawi Watthana.
The moderate rainfall is also expected in Dusit, Bang Kapi, Pathum Wan, Min Buri, Wattana, Phaya Thai, Taling Chan, Bangkok Noi, Bang Phlat, Bang Sue, Lat Krabang, Prawet, Khlong Toei, Suan Luang, Ratchathewi, Bang Khae, and Saphan Sung. The public was advised to go home early after work and beware of possible floods in the heavy rain areas.
