Cost of Living

When you retire, your pension or state funding is set at the rate you retire.

Some countries may get an annual cost of living adjustment.

Do you feel, once you have retired, that your pension maintains pace with the cost of living in Thailand?

The government does a good job with subsidies but other costs have risen from electricity to cooking gas.

Thailand is still much cheaper than other western countries, however it is not free.

If you plan to retire and live in Thailand, if your pension or budget is only allowing you to skimp by, ask yourself if you will still be able to afford to live here if the costs go up the next 10 to 20 years?

Some officials are predicting costs may be 20+ % more here in the next 20 years.

You do not want to find out when you are 80 years old that your pension will not be enough.
