Do You Have Enough Money

For those that have retired in Thailand, do you feel like you have enough money?

Once a person stops working and retires to Thailand, they are on a fixed income.

Some countries like the US, may get a small adjustment each year to keep up with inflation.

That being said, do you feel you have enough money to live in Thailand or are you living in Thailand and just scraping by?

From Condo rental, to full blow farm acreage, there are many different budgets in Thailand.

Depending on people’s likes, those likes with dictate the location. Then it is up to the expat to make living in their chosen location in accordance with their budget.

With 26 rai and everything paid for, we rarely spend 30,000thb per month to live. However, my husband’s monthly pension is almost 20 times that much. It may sound like a lot, but unless you are a US millionaire +, the amount of choices is relatively the same.

I think most people with never have the amount of money they require to do whatever they want whenever they want.

But they can make a good, happy life within their means.

Depending on ownership vs rental, car ownership or not, entertainment lifestyle, budgets for the same areas can differ drastically.

They key is to figure out all those things you need, from a living space, to dining out, entertainment, insurance, etc. and calculate whether or not you can afford that each month.

If you can, life will be a breeze!
