Het Yung?

Het Yung is Isaan dialect for “What are you doing”?

When you live in Thailand, you have a completely different life than that of a tourist.

It is a life not much different than the life you left to move here.

You settle into a daily/weekly routine just like anywhere else in the world.

So, what are you doing in your Thai life?

Living in Thailand, you are not on the go everyday like a tourist.

You do normal things, just like you did in your home country.

Wake up, take a shower, eat breakfast, take care of things around the house.

Maybe go to the store, get your oil changed, get a haircut and back home.

Wash the clothes, clean the house, water the garden.

You might go to the local market each afternoon, take a motorbike ride or simply stay home watching TV.

Support local businesses, attend local festivals.

Spend a lot of time with your new Thai family.

Maybe a couple times a year you go for a local holiday? Maybe not!

Some foreigner’s like the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and Pattaya, others like the peacefulness of rural Isaan.

You have to find the place that suits you, so that you can do the daily/weekly things that bring you enjoyment the rest of your life.

The key is understanding once you decide to live here fulltime, everyday life is about the same as anywhere else.

You have to find a routine that fits you and brings enjoyment each day.

Same Same but different.

The Thai way!
