High season in Thailand is from November to March. This period is considered the best time to visit Thailand because the weather is comfortable and not too hot or too cold. The air is less humid and the sun isn’t as harsh.
Low season is July to September. This is also the rainy season, but it’s still a good time to visit if you’re on a budget, because flights and hotels are cheaper.
It is important, as a tourist, to understand the differences you will face between high and low seasons.
High season has the best weather, but also incurs the most overcrowding you will find at tourist destinations. Not only the crowds, prices are much higher and availability is sometimes sold out. Flights are much higher as well.
Maya Bay Overcrowding.
The overcrowding can draw numerous boats and with the crazy amounts of boats and tourists, the noise level is overwhelming. Anything tranquil is immediately lost as tourists are herded through like cattle.
If you really want to enjoy the Thailand you expect and dream of, the low season is best for you. Yes it rains, but it never rains the entire day and often the rain is welcome.
Crowds are non-existent and prices are at the lowest all year.
Traveling to Thailand requires careful planning. Trade-offs such as traveling between high and low seasons can make a huge difference in the quality of your holiday experience.
Many tourists are left dismayed at the masses of people and noise during the high season.
It is best if you research what is best for YOUR holiday, the high or low season?
You might find the low season is the best choice!
