Is love enough alone, to keep 2 people going together throughout the years?
We all know there is a certain minimum amount of money to qualify for a VISA.
If you are married to a Thai, you must park 400,000 thb (~US $11,500) in the bank each year.
Let’s say you have that covered and leave it alone in the bank year in and year out.
Now what happens if we have a couple, where he may be a school teacher making only 30,000 thb per month in a rural area and she may or may not contribute to their financial well being?
Is being in love enough to get by with limited funds each year, year after year?
Can coupled love each other to make the best out of what limited funds they have?
30,000 thb may seem like an awful lot for someone living in rural Isaan.
They may have found somewhere closer to their own age and think the right guy, even with limited funds, is a great deal for them.
Someone close to their own age, it could in fact be leave and not a trade off between old age/money and younger good looking wife.
So, yet it is possible in the right situation that love can be enough, that is if 2 people truly love each other more than money.
I do not personally know of anyone, but I recall seeing stories of English teachers marrying Thai’s and their 2 incomes are more than enough to raise a family and keep it together through the years.
What is important, is really understanding each other and what it will take to make each other happy.
Some people are just meant to be, money or not.
