When you live in Thailand, you need to be on the look-out for expats that are jealous over what you have and they do not.
This is no joke.
Building a house? A ton of expats will tell you that you are doing it all wrong, even though they never built or owned their own house.
Drive a car they cannot afford? You will hear 100 excuses why the car you chose is not good.
Own a business? Of course you will told it will fail by 100 expats who have no idea how to do business in Thailand and be successful.
There will be no one to pat you on the back and say “Well Done!”
They will all be too jealous if you have more than them.
Best thing is to learn Thai and make Thai friends won’t be jealous.
