Jungle Flight Zipline Death

A Chinese tourist was killed and her husband suffered numerous broken bones when a large tree fell on a cable-supported bridge the couple was walking on.

The accident took place on Thursday at Jungle Flight Chiangmai in Doi Saket district, when a large tree fell on a cable-supported bridge the couple was walking on. Both fell from a 15-metre height, local officials said.

Jing Chen, 44, was found dead on the ground, while Liu Yang, 46, sustained broken bones. Rescue workers transported him to Doi Saket Hospital.

This is another death that could have been avoided.

According to local reports, recent heavy rains had loosened the soil at the base of the tree, causing it to topple over.

This is a problem with Thai people and no common sense or reasoning. No one ever gives a thought to anything going wrong, they can only think about money and profit.

With heavy rains, the attraction should have closed and then inspect the grounds to ensure the attraction was still safe.

Does that ever happen in Thailand?

NO WAY!

Tourists come here experiencing some high level of safety as evident in their own countries and expect Thailand to be the same, except Thailand never is.

The fact no one even questions if the heavy rains damaged the grounds or the attraction shows a serious lack of understanding.

For that lack of common sense and understanding, a Chinese lady is now dead.

Never should have happened.

Don’t ever assume anything is safe in Thailand.
