Here are some things to know about toilets in Thailand:
- Squat toilets. Most toilets in Thailand are squat toilets, which are considered to be healthier and more hygienic than Western sit-down toilets.
- Hand sprayer. Most toilets have a hand sprayer attached to clean yourself with after using the toilet.
- Toilet paper. After using the sprayer, you can use toilet paper to dry off and put it in the bin.
- Rural bathrooms. Some rural bathrooms only have a bucket and tap, where you can splash water on yourself with your hands.
- Wet wipes. You can carry wet wipes and a small plastic bag to carry your trash away
