Not The Question

How much do I need to live in Thailand is not the question. It never is. Screw all the Youtubers with their “Live in Thailand on US $1,000 a month”.

You are not getting the full story and falling for their clickbait foolishness.

You can live in a tent in the woods for $1,000 a month or anywhere else for that matter.

The fact is, not living, but surviving.

Big difference!

Anyone can survive with a $1,000 a month in Thailand.

But you need to look past the end of your nose.

Can you do this the rest of your life?

No Way!

No you can’t because you cannot get your head out of wanting to move right now without ever giving a thought to what happens when you get old.

People get sucked into all these stories and end up moving to Thailand.

Before it is over, a high percentage get to go back home living with Mom and Dad.

Your experience in Thailand becomes useless when you get sent back home and try to find a high paying job.

At your job interview, when they asked you what have you been doing the past few years?

As soon as you mention Thailand, Youtube, etc. that will be a quick end to the interview.

Ask Youtuber “Cal” who could only find a job in a grocery store when he had to go back.

Then you end up living with Mom and Dad with even less money.

$1,000 is surviving in Thailand and you better understand that gets old really fast.

The lifestyle that $1,000 a month in Thailand affords you gets old and boring quickly. It is not the holiday, I can do whatever I want lifestyle.

1 room condo the size of a US bathroom.

No car.

Eating unhealthy Thai street food every meal.

No health insurance.

No assets, no savings, no nothing.

No money to travel, no money for entertainment.

No money for that new Iphone 16 Pro.

For the men looking to marry their Miss Thailand?

Guess what? She wants a house, new car, money for family, money for shopping.

It may take a while for her to catch on you are broke, but as soon as she does or as soon as she meets someone else that can give her those things, so much for the love of your life.

No one wants a broke foreigner, plenty of broke Thai men can speak their own language.

Life isn’t free, not in Thailand and NOT anywhere!

If you think you are going to live the dream in Thailand on $1,000 a month the rest of your life, I would hate to be you when the dream comes crashing down.

Back home years older and broke.

You don’t see Youtuber’s selling that story.

Youtuber Thairish Times. Lived in Thailand for 12+ years. Married a Thai, they have a kid. Even with 50,000+ Youtuber subscribers, back to Ireland with his Thai family to live with Mom and Dad. Working as a low class salesman. 12 years older.

How embarrassing.

Don’t fall for the clickbait because in the end, you will never get over the sorrow when it doesn’t work out.
