Me and my husband were invited to a birthday party for some friends of ours that own a Thai restaurant.
The party was for their 2 year old daughter.
It was quite an elaborate affair, with a buffet and a nice display where every one could hold the child and have a photo taken by a professional photographer. The couple wanted a photo of them and all their friends with the kid one at a time.
In a pretty well to do group, it shocked me that some people brought unwrapped gifts that were less than 150 thb. These are not people hurting for money.
Then watching them stuff their faces at the buffet 3 or 4 times.
My husband I brought gifts, mostly different electronic toys used to teach kids letters and numbers, etc.
It wasn’t that we brought multiple gifts, it was the fact we recognized the child was 2 years old and what would be fun to play and beneficial to learn.
One couple brought a baby shirt, not even wrapped.
And some didn’t bring a darn thing.
How selfish is that?
There are just some people in life that you never want to know.
