Selling Land is the Last Avenue

Selling land has become the last avenue for many Thai families to get money.

Some folks will be moving, some are paying off debts and a host of other reasons to part with their only valuable possession (land).

In rural Isaan, land prices are currently quite steep, with prices about 200,000+ for 1 rai (0.4 acre) of farmland.

The land represents the only thing that many families have of value.

Once they sell the land, that money may be the only amount of money they have the rest of their lives.

This is why families that are selling their land are trying to get as much money for it as they can. Land prices can still be negotiated!

If you are thinking of buying land, ensure the land has the correct title Nor Sor Si Jor

Make sure you have the correct documents in place to ensure the safe guard of your land throughout the years and when you have passed on.

It is probably best as a foreigner, to let your Thai wife or a Thai legal team deal on your behalf. This could prevent the cost of the land from skyrocketing even higher.
