I fall into the everyone else category!
In Thailand, we do have the 1% that can afford to buy anything they want.
Expensive waterfront homes, businesses, expensive cars, overseas sports teams, gold, you name it.
Send their kids to college in the US, or UK.
These people enjoy showing off their wealth and making sure everyone knows how rich they are and how powerful their families are.
Then there is everyone else. Everyone else in Thailand that cannot buy everything they want, work normal jobs, pay bills and struggle to survive just like people all over the world.
With all the lust for materialism in Thailand, it is easy to be envious of the 1%, but it is not realistic to dream or think it will ever be you.
To own land, a home, a car, have some savings and pay the bills is what most of the population of Thailand would consider a very good life.
Yet a high percentage cannot even afford to do that.
We are the everyone else that keeps the country going by working everyday and contributing and lucky to have something.
