The question “How Much Do I Need to Live in Thailand” should be “How much do I need to make it to the end of my life.”
Moving to Thailand, if you are thinking permanently, the question is always going to be how much do I need to make it to the end of my life.
Ever think what happens if you permanently move to Thailand and 1 to 10 years later you run out of money?
Or 30 years later you get to retirement with no pension or social security?
That is the question that needs to be included in ANY planning you have when deciding to move to Thailand.
Any idiot can move to Thailand and live as cheap as possible.
But mark my words, it won’t last forever.
Any permanent relocation requires detailed planning to the end of life.
So many young people move to Thailand thinking they have it all figured out.
Like all the Youtubers.
Been in Thailand 4 or 5 years.
Still living in a condo the size of a closet.
No real assets, no car, no nothing.
Not even a clue every year they are getting further and further behind.
What happens in 5 or 10 years and there is no Youtube? Or the government cracks down on foreign Youtuber’s?
Then you are screwed and back home to live with Mom and Dad when you are 40 years old.
Thailand is just another location, exactly like where you came from.
Thai people have to work their entire lives, just like parents did, just to pay the bills and save for retirement.
If you think moving to Thailand and living cheap is the answer, you are really an idiot.
Sorry, sometimes the truth hurts and it will hurt even more when you get sent home 10 years older.
