Over the course of a lifetime, many things can change. One simple excursion to Thailand prompts many people to want to or actually move to Thailand.
However, things change.
Visiting any holiday destination in the world is awesome and I know because I been to plenty of places that are more awesome than my own home country of Thailand.
The important thing to understand, is the dream of holiday destinations never lasts forever.
It only lasts while you are in holiday mode and stay in fancy resorts, eat in fancy restaurants and go see fabulous attractions.
People save up all year just to come to Thailand and blow it all in 2 weeks.
Thailand lulls the unsuspected into believing their life will always be like that.
Sorry but it won’t.
Things change.
The same reasons you started to dislike living in your homeland, happen in Thailand.
Maybe even worse when you start missing your own culture, family and friends?
Living in Thailand without the income to live the way you want to live? It will change your mind quite quickly.
What happens years later when things change?
What happens when you finally wake up and realize you miss your old life?
Things change.
The bad news is the life you left, your home country, things are probably not the same as you left them and the times are getting much worse than you can realize.
Cost of living, crime, social issues. Most places are much worse than the were even a few years ago.
Because things change and in the west, things are changing for the worst.
That does not mean Thailand is not changing. That doesn’t mean Thailand is a magic wonderland that solves all your problems.
Even places in Thailand are changing.
Have you been to Phuket lately?
Who would have ever thought to see all those signs in Russian Language?
Because things change and will continue to change.
Tourist areas will attract 10,000’s of people of different nationalities changing the feel of these parts of Thailand.
Some places won’t even feel like Thailand.
Because things change.
For us, we love rural Isaan.
Things are changing at such a slow pace, we don’t even seem to notice most of the time.
But when things change for you in Thailand, before you ever get any thoughts of moving here, better to understand things will change over the years and to have a solid plan if Thailand no longer works for you.
