On June 18, 2024, Mr. Mongkol Chaipakdee, the head of Kaeng Krachan National Park in Phetchaburi Province, revealed that a tourist named Amy was able to take pictures of black panthers near the 20th kilometer marker on the way to Phanoen Thung. The black panthers did not show any signs of panic towards the car before walking back into the forest.
It is considered lucky for tourists to encounter black panthers because leopards and black panthers are rarely seen.
If anyone sees them, they can take pictures, but they should not get out of the car, honk the horn, or make loud noises. They should wait for the animals to walk off to the side of the road or back into the forest first, which will ensure safety for both people and wildlife.
What a wonderful experience to see these black panthers!
