Plain and simple, living in Thailand is what you make of it.
If you need to make money working in Thailand, you might survive short time, but you will never make it.
There is a reason people work their entire lives to get a pension large enough to support themselves through death.
If you are working and not accumulating a pension for that day, you are already doomed.
Thailand is what YOU make of it.
All the social media information is not going to help you one bit.
Each person’s experience and needs will be diffferent.
It all comes down to money.
The amount of monthly income will have a direct effect on your quality of life in Thailand.
The biggest thing no one plans for, is old age.
If you come to retire in Thailand and have a pension, you have it all figured out.
If you are a young person thinking you will survive on social media earning like Youtube, forget it.
The shine and allure of Thailand as a tourist with a pocket full of money soon wears off when you try to live full time without enough money.
I do not think any young person can relegate themselves to living in a box sized condo and eating Thai street food the rest of their lives. Some try this and last longer than others.
After 10 years many give up and go home, 10 years older, unable to find a job as 10 years in Thailand is a waste of career goals and achievements.
Living in Thailand can grow old, the same as your home country grew old.
Then what?
I would never advise someone to move to Thailand that does not ALREADY have a guaranteed income that can see them through to death.
Besides all the nuances to living in Thailand (pollution, traffic, heat/humidity, visa issues, etc.) financial stress can be the worst of all.
There are very few that are able to move and live a normal life, getting married, own a house, car, money, etc. Very, very, very few.
