There is a new generation of Youtubers and they seem to be everywhere! Mostly a new fresh-faced generation with lots of enthusiasm for Thailand, Travel and earning enough money each month so they do not have to report to a mundane job.
Some of these Youtuber’s are quite fabulous, live in Thailand and really portray Thailand as it should be.
Others, show up for a 2 week holiday and all of a sudden think they are experts, telling viewers what they should and should not do in Thailand.
I have mixed reactions to whether or not people want to see a 60+ year olds on Youtube?
Many of the 2 week Youtuber’s are also hell bent on copying topics and locations other expert Youtuber’s have covered quite well. Very annoying to see the same stories over and over.
Newbie Youtubers have not figured out the skill require to make/edit professional quality videos. One thing that really annoys me is to see a video with the camera bouncing up and down. Video Stabilization, HELLO?
It takes skill to learn and money to buy top of the line equipment including multiple GoPro’s, A good drone, Macbook Pro, and all the editing software. It is not cheap to start with the best.
There are a handful of Youtubers I thoroughly enjoy watching and bucketfulls I wish would give up and go home.
Perhaps Thailand needs to start regulating foreigners in Thailand trying to make You tube videos instead of working a normal job?
